This Checkpoint webcast focused on the California Financing Law (CFL), covering everything from filing the initial application through license approval and subsequent compliance responsibilities.
Debbie Stopeck, a senior program manager at APPROVED, shared her unique insights from a career spanning nearly four decades in licensing at the California Department of Business Oversight (DBO). The session provided an overview of authority of the CFL law and the DBO’s application and approval processes. Debbie also discussed what happens if you have made or brokered loans to California borrowers without having a CFL license as well as the statutory compliance responsibilities once a license has been approved by the DBO.
