Recently, we confirmed with a representative of the Nevada Department of Business and Industry that Nevada licensees on NMLS are no longer required to mail certain original application documents (e.g., lease agreement, office photos) to the department. Instead, licensees can now upload the documents to their NMLS record, selecting “Additional Requirement(s)” as the document type. However, the department will continue to issue and mail paper license certificates to licensees as a way of verifying their mailing addresses.
As of the date of this post, the department has not updated the applicable NMLS checklists to reflect this position change. But we certainly applaud the state’s efforts to save trees and shipping costs for licensees.
