Recently, the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities updated its NMLS checklists to specify that the fingerprinting of key individuals required for criminal history background checks must now be submitted electronically through Fieldprint, NMLS’ fingerprint vendor, rather than through IdentoGO. This is an exciting development because licensees and license applicants now have one less state-specific fingerprinting process to be concerned with, as electronic fingerprints submitted through Fieldprint can be leveraged for nearly all NMLS licenses. The department clarified that fingerprinting recently completed through IdentoGO will be accepted for the time being.
The department still requires the completion of a separate Pennsylvania state police criminal history background check for each key individual through the Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History (PATCH) website. (Look for specific instructions on how to complete the PATCH request in the NMLS checklists.) However, this process is less burdensome and time consuming by comparison as it doesn’t involve the submission of fingerprints.
